Identifying the 2-level antimicrobial peptides using reduced acid amino composition

Enzyme, as a kind of biocatalyst, dominates many catalytic processes such as metabolism, nutrition and energy conversion, and most of the reactions closely related to human life process are also enzyme catalytic reactions. These characteristics of enzyme make the material metabolism in cells can be carried out in an orderly manner. The defect of enzyme will lead to the disorder of material metabolism and even disease. Enzyme plays an important role in disease diagnosis and clinical treatment, so it is very important to identify enzyme category. In this study, we set up a prediction tool based on amino acid reduced composition 'IHEC_RAAC'' to identify enzyme, non enzyme and enzyme category. In the prediction process, we use reduced amino acid descriptor, tripeptide composition, feature selection, and support vector machine to predict. At last, the prediction accuracy of enzyme and non enzyme was 74.41%, and the override accuracy of enzyme property was 54.70%. It can provide some help for related research.
